“It is absolutely awesome to see this thing fill up,” said Team President Bailey McKinney. “Before we started this we weren’t sure if it was going to fill up or not. But when we saw it hit the 50 mark on Monday, that was a great feeling.”

After the trail had been open to the public for years, the new WVDNR regulations forced the trail to cap the size of the field due to parking at various venues.

“That was the main reason for the change. We knew we had to do something and to us, this was the best thing possible,” said McKinney. “I think this also creates a league that you have to be competitive to stay in and will breed more competition.”

In 2023, teams will be required to fish 4 out of 5 Super Series events and finish inside the Top 47 in points to re-qualify for the 2024 season. The bottom 3 teams will drop from the Series and the Top 3 teams from the Open Series points will qualify for 2024. The Top 40 in points will qualify for the 5th Annual Marshall Fishing Cup that will be held on Summersville in November plus each winner every Open tournament as long as they fish or pay for all 3 tournaments.

“We just want to thank everyone who has signed up to fish this year,” said McKinney. “It means the world to us and we know we have a great group of guys. It is going to be exciting to see these guys compete on different places and truly see who is the best of the best after it is all said and done.”

Also included in the Marshall Super Series is the Phoenix First Flight program that will award winners of each tournament as long as they own a Phoenix and are registered for the First Flight Program.
